Hi, I'm Ruth Naomi
I'm an educator and former professional tutor with over a decade of experience working alongside families and children. I have a degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Child, Youth, & Family. I also have experience in the fields of School Psychology and Child/Adolescent Mental Health.
I am an Infant-Toddler and Family Specialist, Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, Certified Breastfeeding Educator, and Young Parent Support Specialist.
I work through a biopsychosocial-spiritual framework with a desire to support the whole person. I work with an understanding that people do not exist in a "vacuum". I support those I work with systemically and holistically.
After the birth of my first child, I noticed how difficult it could be to access postpartum and early parenting support services. There is often a lack of continuity and direct parental support throughout the perinatal and early childhood periods. I began offering developmental therapy to provide care in one of the most critical periods of a family's life post-birth in a way that supports the strength of families navigating life with developmental delays and special needs.
I have also studied and presented on the maternal health crisis within the United States with a desire to be a part of positive change for mothers and families who are journeying through the perinatal and early childhood periods of life. It is my hope to educate and equip families with tools and resources they need. I love this work and the ability to positively impact the lives of the amazing families who trust me to provide care. I am committed to continually working to support equitable and accessible perinatal and early childhood care through advocacy, education, developmental therapy, and community doula services.
When I'm not connecting with other families, I enjoy spending time cultivating memories with my husband and our three children. We are all often found outside in our home gardens enjoying the blessing of family, silly chickens, and homegrown fruits and veggies!
